This method of painting on glass differs from applying vitreous enamels in one way – working subtractively. After the paint is applied (usually using thinner layers) and has dried, a stiff brush or other tool is used to scratch away and remove paint not wanted. The piece is then fired in a kiln to bind the glass surfaces. The process is repeated multiple times for satisfying results.
